The US Senate on Sept.7 confirmed Sergio Gor as Ambassador to India, approving the presidential aide and Republican strategist in a 50–45 vote that capped days of partisan wrangling and came as part of a sweeping confirmation package of President Donald Trump’s nominees.

The Senate’s confirmation of Gor — a close ally of Trump and co-founder of the conservative publishing house Winning Team Publishing — cements the administration’s diplomatic representation in New Delhi at a time of heightened attention to US-India relations and growing strategic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.
