It is being organized as part of the global observance of International Women’s Day, with a focus on advancing opportunities for women and girls through entrepreneurship, education, excellence, and empowerment.

Event chair Thanawala has been actively involved in community engagement and advocacy initiatives within Indiana’s Indian American and Asian American communities.

This year’s IWD is being commemorated under the theme 'Give To Gain,' which emphasizes collaboration, reciprocity, and collective support. Organizers said the theme highlights how mentorship helps expand access and opportunities for women across communities, reinforcing the idea that shared progress benefits society as a whole.

“As individuals, giving support means calling out stereotypes, challenging discrimination, questioning bias, celebrating women's success, and more,” Thanawala said. “Whether through donations, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring, or time, contributing to women's advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.”

The program will feature a four-part series aligned with the conference’s core themes, addressing leadership development, access to education, entrepreneurship pathways, and community empowerment. Organizers said the sessions are designed to encourage dialogue and practical learning among participants from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.

The event is expected to draw attendees from across Indiana, including members of the Indian diaspora, community organizations, entrepreneurs, students, and professionals.
