Indian American Congressman Suhas Subramanyam announced that his office has helped return over $1 million to residents of Virginia’s 10th Congressional District since he took office.
In addition to the recovered funds, Subramanyam’s office has resolved more than 1,200 individual casework requests and responded to over 35,000 messages from constituents, an release from his office noted.

“My team and I have been laser-focused on delivering answers and saving time and money for Virginians,” Subramanyam said in a statement. “From passport renewals to veteran services to issues with the IRS, this one-million-dollar marker is just the beginning of the progress my team and I will continue to make on behalf of hardworking Virginia families.”
His office handles a broad range of federal issues on behalf of constituents—including Social Security and Medicare, veterans' benefits, IRS matters, passport and visa delays, small business assistance, and federal grants and loans.
Among those assisted was Mary from Ashburn, who sought help after facing delays in receiving federal pension and death benefits following her husband’s passing. “My issues were addressed with OPM with high priority,” she said. “I am pleased to say that all my concerns are successfully resolved due to highly qualified staff.”
Eric from Haymarket said the office helped resolve a long-standing delay in receiving VA education benefits. “After months of back and forth, the Congressman was able to get all of my BAH and tuition paid, and what I was owed in back pay to me.”
Bob from Sterling, who faced a delay in his IRS refund, described the support he and his wife received as “prompt, courteous, and highly effective.”
While not all cases yield a favorable outcome, Subramanyam emphasized that his staff works to ensure every constituent receives responsive and equitable service.
