In the announcement, Bera highlighted the ongoing role his office plays in cutting through red tape and ensuring that residents receive money that might otherwise be overlooked or withheld due to bureaucratic hurdles.

"I'm proud to announce that my office has helped recover more than $23 million in federal benefits owed to hardworking Sacramento County taxpayers,” he said.

The funds recovered reflect a broad range of federal casework outcomes, and the congressman’s team encourages Sacramento County residents to seek assistance if they encounter difficulties with federal agencies.

“Whether it’s expediting delayed tax refunds, addressing Medicare or Social Security issues for seniors, or helping veterans access their VA benefits, my office is here to help. If you or someone you know needs assistance dealing with a federal agency, please don’t hesitate to reach out,” added Bera.

Rep. Bera has served Sacramento County in the U.S. House of Representatives for over a decade, emphasising constituent services and government responsiveness as core priorities of his office.
