Marvell Technology, a California-based data infrastructure semiconductor solutions company, has appointed Indian-American executive Rajiv Ramaswami to its board of directors.
In his new role, Ramaswami will offer strategic guidance, leveraging his cloud and semiconductor expertise to help drive innovation, strengthen industry partnerships, and support Marvell’s global growth, the company said in a statement.

Currently the president and CEO of Nutanix, Ramaswami, brings over 30 years of experience in the technology industry. He previously held key leadership roles across major firms, such as chief operating officer of products and cloud services at VMware. He led the infrastructure and networking group as executive vice president/ general manager at Broadcom, and held several executive positions at Cisco, and IBM. He also served on the board of NeoPhotonics until 2022.
Announcing the appointment, Matt Murphy, chairman and CEO of Marvell, stated, “Rajiv is an accomplished technology executive with deep expertise spanning software, cloud services, network infrastructure, and semiconductors. His leadership and strategic perspective will be invaluable as we continue to advance our position as the leading supplier of data infrastructure semiconductor solutions. Ramaswami holds a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and earned his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
