The Hindu Temple of The Woodlands celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2026) with a special yoga session in Woodlands, Texas.
Organized within the temople premises, the Common Yoga Protocol session attracted attendees from accross the region.
The event was also attended by dignitaries including from the Consulate General of India in Houston. Consul Prashant Sona represented the Consulate at the event and appreciated the Temple leadership, volunteers, and Yoga instructors for their dedicated efforts in promoting holistic well being and the spirit of Yoga.

The Yoga session was followed by a day long Health Mela featuring wellness activities and community engagement.
Talking about the event, the Consulate General of India in Houston said on X, "The Consulate extends sincere thanks to all participants, instructors, and community partners for their enthusiastic support."
It added, "Such initiatives strengthen the collective celebration of IDY across the region."
The 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) is being celebrated worldwide on June 21, 2026, with special events being planned by community organizations and Indian Consulates accross the globe.
The festivities are bringing together millions of participants through yoga sessions, wellness programs, and community events.
Observed under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” the initiative highlighted yoga’s role in promoting physical health, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyles across all age groups.
