U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna has announced a visit to Pennsylvania next week for what he is calling the "Made in PA: New Economic Patriotism Tour," saying the trip will focus on hearing directly from workers and communities about rebuilding the American economy.

Khanna shared the announcement on his official X account, noting his personal ties to the state.

"I was born in Bucks County. My parents still live there," he wrote, adding that he is "coming home" the week after the nation's 250th anniversary.

According to Khanna, the tour will focus on listening to workers and local communities about "building an economy that works for everyone."

The California congressman also shared a link directing supporters to RSVP through a Mobilize.us event page. At the time of publication, the page did not list specific tour dates, locations or a detailed itinerary.

Khanna represents California's 17th Congressional District, which includes parts of Silicon Valley, and has served in Congress since 2017. He has been a prominent advocate for expanding domestic manufacturing, strengthening U.S. competitiveness in science and technology, and promoting industrial policy aimed at boosting American jobs.

Although he represents California, Khanna has frequently spoken about his roots in Pennsylvania. He was born in Philadelphia to Indian immigrant parents and has said that Bucks County, where his family later settled, played an important role in shaping his upbringing. His parents continue to live there.

The "New Economic Patriotism" message builds on a broader campaign Khanna has promoted in recent months.

As previously reported by New India Abroad, Khanna has introduced and supported legislation aimed at expanding U.S. manufacturing, increasing investment in scientific research and technology, and strengthening America's industrial base. He has argued that rebuilding domestic production is essential to long-term economic growth and national competitiveness.

Earlier this year, New India Abroad also reported that Indian American community leaders in the San Francisco Bay Area hosted an event supporting Khanna's reelection campaign. Speakers praised his calls for greater transparency in the Jeffrey Epstein case and his advocacy for tax policies targeting the wealthiest Americans.

Khanna has also emerged as a prominent progressive voice within the Democratic Party. Last month, New India Abroad reported that he urged fellow progressives to continue challenging what he described as "oligarchs," pointing to Democratic victories in New York, New Jersey, Michigan and Maine as signs of growing momentum for the party's agenda.

No additional information about the Pennsylvania tour's planned stops, participating organizations or public events was included in Khanna's announcement or on the RSVP page available at the time of publication.
