Ramaswamy's net-worth grows by 80% amid Ohio race

Indian origin politician and billionaire businessman Vivek Ramaswamy's net worth jumped by 80 percent as per a recent Forbes report, taking his net worth from $1 billion USD to $1.8 billion in November 2025, in just 8 months.
The spike comes at a time when Ramaswamy has his eyes set on the Ohio Governor's office, an attempt backed by his former presidential election rival and current US president Donald Trump.
As per the report, his growth, from being a borderline billionaire to being more cemented on the list, came primarily from his investments in Roivant Sciences, a pharma company he founded in 2014 with the goal of buying drugs abandoned by pharma giants and using technology to unlock their value.

After a tumultuous 2017, with his Roivant subsidiary 'Axovant' collapsing due to a failed Alzheimer's drug trial and forcing Ramaswamy to sell a part of his Roivant stake.
The years that followed showed gradual change with Roivant selling 10 percent of its stake and five of its subsidiaries to Japanese conglomerate Sumitomo in 2019 and making the company public in 2021.
He left the Roivant board in 2023 but continues to be the company's largest shareholder. Post his departure, the company's stock rose by 72 percent, fueled by positive Phase 3 trial results for Brepocitinib in September 2025, further boosting Ramaswamy's holdings.
40-year-old Ramaswamy’s $1.8B net worth stems mainly from close to $1.21 billion in Roivant Sciences stock, including options, a $150 million stake in his 'anti-woke' firm 'Strive Asset Management', and a $100 million stake in Medicare-startup 'Chapter'.
His Ohio governor campaign has also raised $9.7M, with only $200K of it being his own money, a result of a well-learned financial lesson from his failed presidential run that cost $26 million of his own money
