Save Soil Walkathon / Eventbrite
James Madison Park in Madison, WI, hosted its 2026 Save Soil Walkathon. The event was part of a coordinated series in 40 cities across North America. The walkathon supported the Save the Soil Movement, a global campaign started by Sadhguru, founder of Isha Foundation.
Building on this coordinated effort, the Walkathon aimed to raise awareness about soil degradation and advocate for regenerative practices to secure food security and environmental health for future generations.
The family-friendly gathering featured live music, cultural performances, dance, interactive activities, and soil health information sessions. Participants were encouraged to wear green/white or Save Soil merchandise.

Preeti Ojha, Haritha Siddardh Gourishetty, and Katherine Bleyl, students of Odissi dance teacher Raka Bandyopadhyay, performed Basant Pallavi. The dance was choreographed by Padma Vibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra with Music by Pandit Bhubaneswar Misra.
Sun Prairie, WI, Mayor Steve Stocker, serving as the chief guest, flagged off the Walkathon, marking the official start of the event.
The Madison event exemplified grassroots efforts within a broader global movement for policy change and regenerative agriculture. Although the movement has earned international support, critics continue to question aspects of its implementation and context.
