Indian-American KATSEYE star Lara Raj called out online hate and body shaming against her, describing the comments as "a ridiculous amount of nastiness."
Lara Raj is a 20-year-old American singer of Tamil-Indian descent, known as a member of the global girl group KATSEYE under HYBE x Geffen Records.
She debuted with KATSEYE in 2024 after coming in second in the survival show The Debut: Dream Academy and is celebrated for her powerful vocals, South Asian cultural representation, and advocacy for queer visibility.
Lashing out against the hate comments, Raj said on X, "You should feel embarrassed for how just simply mean some of you have been recently. I know it’s not all of you but i've seen a ridiculous amount of nastiness. Cut it out! And go outside!"

Raj remarked that she cared for her page and any kind of hate toward her or her group would not be tolerated, she said, "I need to say that it is comical to me how some of you think you can get away with insulting / spreading harmful misinformation about people I love and care for on MY page, if you do that it will be deleted/blocked bc i do not tolerate hate on my platforms. I really do love you all deeply but do not cross that boundary with me or any of the girls."
The KATSEYE sensation also hit out at comments about her body and described the comments as "disgusting." She added, "some ppl are so afraid of a healthy female body it’s hilarious... get a grip. I love my body and always will."
KATSEYE is a multinational six-member global girl group under HYBE x Geffen Records, formed through the 2023 survival show The Debut: Dream Academy and debuting in June 2024 with the single "Debut".
Comprising Sophia Laforteza, Lara Raj, Yoonchae Jeung, Megan Skiendiel, Daniela Avanzini, and Manon Bannerman, the group blends K-pop training with Western pop, earning Grammy nominations and recently releasing the single "Internet Girl" in 2026.
