Jainita Chauhan presented her Bharatanatyam Arangetram on Oct. 25, 2025, at the Garland Plaza Theatre in Texas under the guidance of her teacher, Guru Nirva Shah of Payal Dance Academy.

The evening featured a full margam—the traditional sequence of Bharatanatyam repertoire—choreographed by Guru Shah in Gujarati and Hindi. The performance began with Pushpanjali and Ganesh Stuti, followed by Jatiswaram, Shabdam, Varnam, two Padams, Kirtanam, Tillana, and concluded with Mangalam.

Chauhan’s presentation displayed precise footwork, expressive gestures, and poised movements that reflected both technical mastery and emotional depth. Her interpretation of devotional and narrative pieces highlighted themes of bhakti (devotion) and reverence, central to the classical form.

The audience responded with repeated applause throughout the performance, particularly during 'Ma Tane Garbe Ramva Aavo', 'Vishvambhari Stuti', and a Krishna devotional piece. The emotionally charged rendition of 'Bhulo Bhale Biju Badhu Ma Bap Ne Bhulso Nahi' drew visible reactions, with several audience members moved to tears.

At the close of the evening, Guru Nirva Shah presented Chauhan with a plaque recognizing her dedication and artistic achievement. The event marked not only Chauhan’s formal entry into the classical dance tradition but also a moment of celebration for her teacher and the Payal Dance Academy community.
