Indian-origin engineer replaced by Indians: Viral video
He noted that his offers to relocate to India, if needed, were also turned down by the company.

An Indian-origin's Engineer's humorous tale about his exit interview has gone viral on social media after he, an Indian-American, lost his job to Indians in India.
Giving a humorous spin to a tough pill to swallow, he recalled that his entire team was fired and the company openly admitted to offshoring the work to India.
On being told that he was being replaced by Indians, he quickly quipped back saying that he was Indian himself and therefore need not be fired.
The company doubled down and highlighted that they meant workers based in India, people who could do the same work for less money, and not Indian-Americans like him.

Recollecting the conversation, he said, "I looked them dead in the eye and said, ‘You guys know I’m Indian, right? Like, you can get the rest of these people out of here, but you can keep me around I’m already Indian. We can get rid of these crackers and replace them with my friends.'"
He continued, "But they said, ‘No, you don’t get it you’re not the kind of Indian we want.’ I asked them what they meant. I even joked, ‘Do you want me to have an accent? I’ll do the accent.’ But they clarified they wanted Indians from India."

In the exit interview that sounds almost like a Bollywood comedy scene, he claims to have pleaded his case saying that he came from India when he was two and is ready to move back to India with the job if the job is going to India.
However, the company declined his offer and noted, "'No, you don’t get it we’re getting rid of you. We’re moving the job to India to be done by Indians from India who live there and will do it cheaper.’"
He added, "And in that moment, I turned into every one of your fathers. I was like, ‘These goddamn Indians are taking our jobs.’”
The witty take on a personal tragedy comes at a time when millions are losing their jobs across the United States. Oracle recently fired close to 30,000 employees globally and created mass panic among employees across industries.
The firings come at a time when H-1B debate is raging in the U.S. and the Trump administration is trying to curb not just illegal immigration but also legal immigration using tactics like a $100,000 Visa fees and longer renewal wait times. These tactics make companies more open to offshoring jobs to countries like India, relying on remote work instead of bearing the expense of relocating talent to U.S. offices.
