Indian-American entrepreneur Mou Dasgupta secured a major retail milestone for her premium tea company, Brook37 Tea Atelier, with the brand launching across all 54 Costco warehouses in Texas.

The expansion marks the New Jersey-based company's first major retail partnership and significantly broadens the reach of the woman-owned tea brand, which focuses on direct-sourced teas, sustainability and wellness-focused products.

Brook37's Texas rollout features two blends tailored for the state's strong iced tea culture: Pink Rose Strawberry and Lemon Ginger. The company said both teas are designed to be served hot or over ice.

"Texas has one of the most passionate iced tea cultures in the country, and we designed these blends with that in mind," Dasgupta said. "Pink Rose Strawberry over ice is an experience. Lemon Ginger over ice is a ritual. We cannot wait for Texas to fall in love with both."

Founded by Dasgupta after leaving a 25-year career in the financial services industry, Brook37 sources tea directly from selected farms and packages its products in plant-based, compostable tea bags.

The company also says its teas undergo independent testing for heavy metals and are formulated to support wellness goals including immunity, digestion and energy.

Dasgupta, who grew up near the Darjeeling tea-growing region in India, launched Brook37 in 2021 after stepping away from senior leadership roles in the corporate sector. Before founding the company, she served as an executive director at JPMorgan Chase and Co. and previously held executive positions at Morgan Stanley, Capital Group, Capital One, Toshiba and EY.

According to the company, Dasgupta was involved in coordinating relief efforts for families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in India while working remotely during the crisis, an experience she has cited as influential in her decision to pursue entrepreneurship.

Brook37 said Texas was selected for its first large-scale retail launch because of the state's strong tea-drinking culture and growing demand for health-conscious consumer products. The company described the rollout across all 54 Texas Costco locations as a sign of its readiness to compete in the broader U.S. beverage market.

"Texas doesn't do things halfway, and neither do we," Dasgupta said. "We launched everywhere, because we believe in what we've built, and because Texas deserves nothing less."

In addition to leading Brook37, Dasgupta is an angel investor and a charter member of TiE, a global network that supports entrepreneurship. She holds a master's degree in software engineering from SNDT Women's University and a bachelor's degree in physics from Lady Brabourne College.
