The endorsement adds to Israni’s list of local support as she campaigns to replace Rep. Eric Swalwell in the Alameda County-based district covering Fremont, Hayward, Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, and parts of the East and South Bay.
The area includes one of the nation’s largest Indian American voter bases, with over 42,000 registered Indian American voters.
Reacting to the endorsement, Israni expressed pride, stating that her support is expanding “because our community is ready for new leaders who build bridges and get things done in D.C.”
Israni, a Fremont-based Indian American attorney, entrepreneur, and educator, launched her campaign in Jan. 2026. Her campaign has shown strong early fundraising, with more than US $1 million raised in the first 24 hours and nearly US $2 million within the first two weeks.
Israni has also received endorsements from Dublin City Councilmember John Morada, Sunnyvale Councilmember Murali Srinivasan, and Alameda County District Attorney Jeff Rosen.
Other Democrats in the June 2, 2026, primary include Aisha Wahab, Melissa Hernandez, Matt Ortega, Abrar Qadir, and Wendy Huang.
