Granting a significant edge to Congressman Ro Khanna, the California Democratic Party officially announced its endorsement of the serving congressman in his re-election bid to represent California’s 17th District on Feb. 22.
Khanna, who was elected to Congress in 2016, is now serving his 5th term representing California’s 17th District, which covers communities in Silicon Valley. Khanna is the deputy whip of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, an assistant whip for the Democratic Caucus, and the Democratic vice chair of the House Caucus on Indian Americans.

Acknowledging the endorsement, Khanna said on X, "I'm so proud to be endorsed by @CA_Dem and look forward to working together to fight for a bold progressive vision and an affordable California for working-class families."
Highlighting the significance of the endorsement, he added, "The California Democratic Party endorsement is the gold standard in my district."
Khanna's endorsement in the Democratic stronghold comes after the party's 2026 State Endorsing Convention on Feb. 21. Several significant offices, including those of the governor and the lieutenant governor, went without endorsements due to a lack of consensus.
