Santanu Chatterjee / University of Georgia
Dr. Santanu Chatterjee has been appointed as the dean of the University of Georgia's C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry College of Business, following a national search.
Chatterjee, who had been serving as the interim dean, will assume office on Apr. 1 and will serve as the college's 13th dean, replacing Benjamin C. Ayers, who was appointed as the university’s senior vice president for academic affairs and provost.
Since joining the college in 2013, Chatterjee has served as Dr. Harold A. Black Distinguished Professor of Economics. He has also served as director of both the full-time MBA and the Master of Science in Business Analytics programs, in addition to his role as associate dean for graduate programs.

“It is an honor and privilege to be named dean of a college that has been my professional home for over two decades,” Chatterjee told UGA Today.
He added, “I am grateful to President Morehead and Provost Ayers for their confidence in me, and I am eager to work alongside our world-class faculty, staff, students and alumni to build on our strong foundation and reach even greater heights. Together, we will continue to build the nation’s most globally engaged, student-centered and future-ready business school.”
Chatterjee’s appointment comes after a nationwide search conducted by an 18-member advisory committee featuring Terry College faculty, staff, students and alumni. The committee was chaired by Matthew R. Auer, dean of the School of Public and International Affairs.
