She also thanked her campaign team and volunteers, saying she was “deeply grateful” to her family, staff, volunteers, and supporters who “stepped up, knocked doors, made calls, and believed in what we’re building together.”

Listing her priorities, Sethi said she will focus on conversations with residents during door-to-door campaigning, which revealed concerns over rising prescription drug prices, possible school closures affecting local families, and threats to women’s fundamental rights.

Emphasizing the collective nature of the campaign, she wrote, “This has never been about one person, it’s about all of us,” adding, “Let’s keep this momentum going and continue fighting for a Texas where every person can thrive, all the way to November.”

The announcement drew congratulatory messages from supporters and marked her advancement as the Democratic nominee in the Democratic-leaning Austin-area district covering parts of Travis County. Messages of support also came from Indian American community leaders.

The former Travis County Democratic Party chair and immigration attorney will now face Republican nominee Jennifer Mushtaler in the November general election following the primary victory.
