Punjabi flavors have a new, upscale home in Manhattan with the opening of Ambassadors Clubhouse New York, a North Indian restaurant and bar that debuted in the NoMad neighborhood on Feb. 11.

The restaurant opened its doors at 1245 Broadway, between West 30th and 31st streets, sharing a building with film studio A24. Blending classic Punjabi dishes with a polished, contemporary setting, it adds a fresh destination to New York City’s ever-evolving Indian dining scene.

The New York opening marks the U.S. debut of the Ambassadors Clubhouse concept by London-based JKS Restaurants, founded by Indian-origin siblings Jyotin, Karam, and Sunaina Sethi. The group established the original Ambassadors Clubhouse in London in 2024, which recently earned a Michelin star.

The two-storey, 150-seat restaurant features interiors inspired by the party mansions of northern India. Designed by London-based studio North End, the space includes stained-glass ceilings, ornate woodwork, patterned carpets, dark timber, and artwork by Punjabi artists. The design closely mirrors the London flagship while adapting the scale for Manhattan.

The kitchen is led by chef Karan Mittal, whose previous experience includes Indian Accent and Ananda. The menu draws from royal kitchens, roadside stalls, and home-style cooking traditions of Punjab, presenting Punjabi cuisine through a large-format, shareable dining approach.

Signature dishes from the London location, including barbecue butter chicken chops, chilli cheese pakode, and Matka Beliram lamb curry, are featured alongside New York–specific additions such as a seafood tower with shrimp nargisi koftas and scallops with chutney, as well as Warqi lamb seekh kebabs.

Desserts include lassi chaat with yogurt ice cream and citrus elements and Gur Malai toast with apples, jaggery caramel, and burnt ghee ice cream. The beverage program centers on cocktails influenced by Punjabi flavors, including large-format drinks designed for group dining.

Co-Founder Karam Sethi said, “Ambassadors Clubhouse and Gymkhana are expressions of who we are and we are excited to connect with a new community of guests. We join the market at a time when the interest in Indian cuisine and culture is growing rapidly, and we look forward to contributing to this momentum by raising greater awareness of regional Indian cuisine.”

The restaurant is currently open nightly for dinner, with weekend lunch service expected to launch soon.

Ambassadors Clubhouse in NY follows JKS’s broader expansion in the United States, which includes Gymkhana in Las Vegas and Berenjak in Los Angeles. The group is also known for Gymkhana in London, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant with an international following.
