St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa, Florida has received a gift of $3 million from Vik and Sneha Patel, Indian Americans who founded the Florida-based Purple Square Management Co.
The upcoming pediatric facility at the hospital will have a "healing garden" named after them. The garden will be a central feature of the Pagidipati Children’s Hospital at St. Joseph’s, scheduled to open in 2030.

Envisioned as a peaceful outdoor retreat for patients and families, the garden is designed to offer comfort during some of the most difficult times in a child's medical journey., a release stated.
"We are so impressed by the caliber of the clinical team, the kindness they show to everyone and the vision for the future. It is an honor to play a role in this lifesaving project," Vik and Sneha Patel said in a statement.
"As parents of two young girls, it is a comfort to know that this wonderful hospital is right here in our community and can take care of anything from a broken bone to an unexpected emergency," the couple added.
The Patels, based in Tampa, own and operate more than 245 franchises, including over 100 Dunkin’/Baskin-Robbins locations across Florida and Alabama. Through their company, Purple Square Management Co., founded in 2006, they have focused on community investment and philanthropy.
Their latest contribution builds on a long-standing relationship with the hospital. In 2024, they chaired the annual Heroes Ball, which raised $1.45 million for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
"From the day Vik and Sneha were introduced to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, they have been all in," said Kate Sawa, president of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Foundation. "Their gift will help create a truly special space that brings peace, comfort and joy to families during some of their most challenging moments."
The healing garden is part of BayCare’s broader strategy to elevate St. Joseph’s as a national leader in pediatric, family-centered care. The new freestanding facility will expand specialty services and research to meet the region’s growing needs.
