A comedy fundraiser hosted by Indian American television host and activist Padma Lakshmi in support of abortion access organizations has sold out ahead of its June 17 show in Brooklyn.
The event will be held at The Bell House and will benefit the National Network of Abortion Funds, a coalition that helps people access abortion care across the United States.

The lineup includes Michelle Buteau, Brett Goldstein, Hasan Minhaj, Larry Owens, Reeezy, and Sydnee Washington. Comedian Jay Jurden will return as co-host alongside Lakshmi. Lakshmi also hinted at additional surprise guests for the event.
Lakshmi has hosted similar comedy fundraisers in Brooklyn in recent years, with proceeds supporting abortion access and reproductive rights groups. The annual-style event has become part of her broader advocacy work around women’s health and civil rights issues.
Known for hosting the television series Top Chef and Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi, Lakshmi has increasingly used her public platform to speak on immigration, reproductive rights, and health advocacy.
She is also a co-founder of the Endometriosis Foundation of America and serves as an ambassador for immigration and women’s rights initiatives.
The fundraiser also comes as abortion rights organizations across the United States continue mobilizing support and legal resources amid ongoing battles over abortion access following the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
