“Nisha brings profound insight into the economic and geopolitical forces shaping South Asia and the Indo-Pacific,” said Nirav Patel, CEO and co-founder of TAG. “Her deep networks and strategic acumen will empower our clients to navigate complexities in India, while capitalizing on growth prospects in one of the world’s most dynamic regions.”

“Biswal’s appointment underscores TAG’s long-term investment in India and its broader strategic focus on the Indo-Pacific as a center for global business and sustainability innovation,” added Patel.

As partner, Biswal will lead efforts to support global businesses with market entry strategies, political risk management, and strategic partnerships across South Asia. She will focus on driving outcomes in key sectors such as energy, critical minerals, and sustainability.

“In a world where geopolitics and the green agenda, and growth and development more generally, are jostling for space, Nisha’s arrival as partner signals TAG’s commitment to the India story,” said Ashok Malik, partner and chair of TAG’s India Practice.

Before joining TAG, Biswal served as deputy CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), where she helped transform the agency into the largest U.S. bilateral development finance institution. She previously led the U.S.-India and U.S.-Bangladesh Business Councils as senior vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and served as Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs from 2013 to 2017.

Her public service also includes senior roles at United States Agency For International Development (USAID) and in the U.S. House of Representatives on both the Appropriations and Foreign Affairs Committees. She currently serves on the board of Excelerate Energy and has advised institutions including the U.S. Institute of Peace, the National Democratic Institute, and the Aspen Institute.
