The North American Indian Chamber of Commerce (NAICC) held its Diwali and 2025 annual business reception and recognition event recently in Michigan.
The event at Farmington Hills Manor was attended by more than 400 people, including business leaders, community members, and elected officials.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin, Minority Senate Leader Aric Nesbitt, Republican Party Chair Jim Runestad, and Congresswoman Haley Stevens, were among those present

Opening the program, NAICC president Dhaval Vaishnav called for greater collaboration within the business community.
The chamber presented key recognitions, including the Visionary Business Leader Award to Singh Development, accepted by Gary Grewal Singh. The Legacy Leadership Award was presented to NYX Corporation, represented by Jay Sandhu.
Both honorees spoke about their companies’ growth, challenges, and long-term commitment to community advancement.
A segment coordinated by NAICC media chair Supriya Tamhane recognized veterans from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Sheriff’s Department. The tribute received a standing ovation, and Tamhane’s media outreach increased the event’s visibility across regional channels.
Video greetings from Senator Elissa Slotkin, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan were screened during the program.
