Lehigh University has appointed Indian-American business executive Dipti Gulati to its board of trustees for a four-year term beginning this month.
In her new role as Gulati will provide strategic oversight, contribute financial and governance expertise, and support institutional goals in innovation, academic excellence, and global engagement during a critical period for higher education.

Currently serving as the chief executive officer of audit and assurance at Deloitte & Touche, Gulati brings over 30 years of experience. She leads more than 20,000 professionals across Deloitte’s U.S. Audit and Assurance practice and is responsible for ensuring audit quality, strengthening trust in capital markets, and delivering innovative, high-impact client service.
Gulati has held several key leadership roles at Deloitte, including managing partner for the East Region and member of the U.S. board of directors and its risk and regulatory committee. In recognition of her professional accomplishments, Forbes named her one of New York’s Best-in-State CPAs in 2025.
An active contributor to civic and academic communities, Gulati previously served on the board of the United Way of New York City and regularly engages with universities and industry bodies.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lehigh and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Welcoming the new trustees, board chair Vincent A. Forlenza, Jr. highlighted the value of their diverse expertise. “They are highly accomplished in their careers, and they care deeply about the future of the university. I am honored to continue leading this group of distinguished individuals who are dedicated to Lehigh and its promising future, especially when institutions are facing a unique set of challenges within higher education,” he said.
