Indiaspora, a network of global Indian-origin leaders from diverse backgrounds, organized a three-day forum in Delhi from August 22 to 24 ahead of the G20 Leaders Summit in September. The forum, themed ‘Indiaspora G20 Forum- The Road to India at 100 – The Diaspora Dimension,’ had diplomats, academicians and business heads in attendance to deliberate on various subjects.
U.S. Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti delivered an inspiring keynote address at the inaugural Indiaspora G20 Forum titled "The Indian Diaspora - A Bridge between the United States and India." “The best thing you can have in life is being comfortable crossing borders and navigating between places. We are part of multiple identities, but in reality, we are part of concentric circles,” Garcetti said. US-India Business Council president Atul Keshap spoke on a panel discussion on ‘Global Connect: The contributions of the Indian Diaspora’ at the forum.

During a keynote address, G20 Chief Coordinator, Ministry of External Affairs Harsh Vardhan Shringla made special mention of the US-India jet engine deal and the role of Indian-Americans in furthering the bilateral relationship, according to a release. In a session at the forum, the Finance Secretary, of the Government of India Dr. T.V. Somanathan discussed the strength of the global Indian community, forging unwavering connections, and channelling collective energies toward sustained contributions that shape a brighter future for India.
Day 2 of the Indiaspora G20 Forum started with welcome notes by Rangaswami, founder of Indiaspora and Sreekumar Nair, chief executive officer (CEO) - India at Indiaspora. The second day of the forum involved discussions on a wide variety of topics related to India's growth story and the role of the Indian diaspora in it. Music legend A R Rahman attended the event and shared his insights on the global music diaspora.
Music's power to unite and transcend boundaries was a key theme of the discussion. Musical stage performances from the Garba of Gujarat to the Bihu of Assam were organized to showcase India’s rich diverse musical heritage.

Indian American business leaders and academicians, including Shamina Singh founder and president, of Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth and EVP, Sustainability, Mastercard USA, prof. Sunder Ramaswamy from Middlebury College USA, Preetish Nijhawan co-founder of Cervin Ventures USA, Niren Chaudhary chairman of Panera Brands USA, Murali Vullaganti of PeopleShores PBC and others attended the forum as key speakers. On the last day, the closing remarks were delivered by Sanjeev Joshipura.
