Indian student found dead in Texas apartment
The family says she had been coughing and experiencing chest pain for two days.

A 23-year-old Indian student from Andhra Pradesh was found dead in her apartment in Texas, United States, on Nov. 7.
The student, identified as Rajyalakshmi (Raji) Yarlagadda, had recently graduated from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and was seeking employment at the time of her death.

According to her cousin Chaitanya YVK, who launched a GoFundMe fundraiser from Denton, Texas, Yarlagadda had been “sick with a severe cough and chest pain for 2–3 days” before she died.
“On the morning of Nov. 7, she did not wake up while her alarm rang, leaving her family and friends heartbroken,” he wrote in the appeal.
Yarlagadda hailed from Karmechedu village in Bapatla district, Andhra Pradesh. The family, who rely on small-scale farming, said she had travelled to the US to support her parents and build a better future for them. She had completed her degree and was preparing to begin her professional career.
Medical examination procedures are underway in Texas to determine the exact cause of death.
Her cousin’s GoFundMe campaign appeals for assistance to cover funeral arrangements, the transportation of her body to India, repayment of her educational loans, and financial support to her parents.
The appeal notes that any contribution—“big or small”—would make a meaningful difference to the grieving family.
