Cindy Rodriguez Singh, an Indian-origin woman, is wanted by the FBI for allegedly killing her six-year-old son in Texas and fleeing the country.
A federal arrest warrant was issued for Rodriguez Singh on Nov. 2, 2023, after she was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. She was earlier charged with capital murder on Oct.31, 2023, in Tarrant County, Fort Worth.
According to the FBI, the Everman Police Department in Texas was asked by the state’s Department of Family and Protective Services to conduct a welfare check on March 20, 2023. The child had not been seen since October 2022.
During the welfare check, Rodriguez Singh told investigators that the boy was in Mexico with his biological father and had been there since November 2022.
Just two days later, on March 22, Rodriguez Singh boarded an international flight to India along with her husband and six other children. Investigators confirmed that the missing child was not with them and never boarded the flight. She has not returned to the United States since.
The FBI said Rodriguez Singh “has ties to or may visit India and Mexico” and should be considered a flight risk. She also goes by several aliases, including Cecilia Rodriguez and Cindy C. Rodriguez.
She is described as being between 5’1” and 5’3” tall, weighing between 120 and 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has multiple tattoos on her back, legs, arms, and hands.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $250,000 for information leading to her arrest.
