Indian-origin student wins Future Innovators Scholarship at Illinois Tech

Indian-origin student Likith Krishna, pursuing electrical engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology, has been named the 2025 recipient of the CalendarBridge Future Innovators Scholarship. The award was announced on Sept.15 in Miami.

The annual scholarship provides up to $2,000 for undergraduates in computer science, software engineering, or electrical engineering. It is aimed at recognizing students with strong academic performance, creative thinking, and a commitment to advancing technology.

Krishna’s application stood out for his focus on power electronics and renewable energy. His essay outlined how innovative engineering solutions could be applied to real-world challenges, a perspective that the selection committee found compelling.

“This scholarship motivates me to continue pursuing innovative solutions in power electronics and renewable energy, while reminding me that hard work and dedication are always recognized,” Krishna said.

CalendarBridge noted that the recognition carried a personal connection for the company, as Illinois Tech is also the alma mater of its co-founder, Chad Gilles.

“We were impressed not only by Likith’s academic focus and future ambitions but also by the determination and follow-through he showed during the application process,” Gilles said. “It’s a privilege to support students like Likith who are working toward meaningful change in the world.”

The Future Innovators Scholarship is part of CalendarBridge’s effort to encourage undergraduate students who show potential to contribute significantly to technology through problem-solving and leadership.

CalendarBridge, based in Miami, develops calendar synchronization and scheduling solutions that allow individuals and teams to coordinate across multiple platforms.
