Chaya D. Patel, an Indian origin biotech investor and principal at Mission BioCapital, has been selected for the 2025 Boardroom Ready program run by Women In Bio (WIB). The program, supported by Los Angeles based law firm Latham & Watkins, aims to prepare senior women in the life sciences sector for corporate board positions.

Patel is based in Mission BioCapital’s Cambridge office, where she identifies and evaluates new investment opportunities and supports portfolio companies through operational roles. Since joining the firm in 2021, she has served as a board observer for Arclight Therapeutics, ImmunOs, and Eikonizo Therapeutics. She is also a leader in the Emerging Venture Capitalists Association in Boston.

Before her current role, Patel worked on venture creation at a family office, contributing to the development of Alloy Therapeutics. She holds a PhD from Dartmouth, where her research focused on creating maternal immunity to prevent neonatal viral infections, and a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and immunology from UCLA.

The Boardroom Ready program offers executive development through courses and applied learning, with the goal of increasing women’s participation on corporate boards in biotech and life sciences.

“We’re proud to support the Boardroom Ready program and help create opportunities for professionals to elevate their role within biotech and life sciences companies across the U.S. and around the world,” said Dr. Kate Hillier, partner at Latham & Watkins. “These driven, innovative leaders will bring a new perspective to the boardroom.”

WIB says the 2025 cohort includes senior leaders from across the United States. The nonprofit, which has nearly 4,000 members and programming reaching more than 12,000 people across 13 North American chapters, supports women at all stages of their careers through mentorship, networking, and professional development initiatives.
