An Indian man was allegedly assaulted and left hospitalised with severe injuries after a brutal racist attack in South Australia's Adelaide on July 19.
The victim, Charanpreet Singh, was out to see the city's light displays with his wife in their car when a group of assailants allegedly surrounded him and thrashed him.
Recorded by Singh's wife on her phone, the five-men gang attacked Singh with metal knuckles or other similar weapons.
Speaking to 9News, Singh alleged that the group attacked him without any provocation, he said, ""They just said 'f--- off, Indian', and after that they just started punching,"
He added, "I tried to fight back, but they beat me until I was unconscious."
Singh also expressed the emotional toll of the attack and said, "Things like this, when they happen, it makes you feel like you should go back. You can change anything in your body, but you can't change the colours."
The video, shot by Singh's wife shows the vicious attack where the assailants are punching Singh on his face multiple times and repeatedly kicking him, once he was down.

South Australian Premier, Peter Malinauskas, addressed the local media and pointed out that "any time we see any evidence of any racial attack, it is completely unwelcome in our state & just not consistent with where the majority of our community are at."
The Australian High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, quoted and supported Malinauskas' comments and reiterated that racism has no place in Australia.
In relation to an assault this week, I echo the South Australian Premier's comments to local media wholeheartedly - "Any time we see any evidence of any racial attack, it is completely unwelcome in our state & just not consistent with where the majority of our community are at".
