A 31-year-old Indian citizen residing in Canada has been arrested after US federal agents seized 109 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a tractor-trailer at the Peace Bridge border crossing, in what prosecutors called one of the largest drug seizures in the Western District of New York.
U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo identified the accused as Vishavpal Singh, who faces charges of possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, a maximum of life, and a $10 million fine.
