Indian activist Navneet Kaur bats for women's rights at UN in New York

Indian social reformer Dr. Navneet Kaur represented India at the 19th International Human Rights Summit at the United Nations Headquarters United Nations headquarters in New York on July 24, 2025.

Dr. Kaur, the Vice Chairperson of the All India Sustainable Development Council (AISDC), attended the summit, marking another milestone in India's and the organization’s continued advocacy for global peace, human rights, and sustainable development.

AISDC is a non-profit organization working for sustainable progress across India, with a vision aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the summit, UN Women chief Sima Sami Bahous said, "At our current pace, women will wait for more than 100 years for full equality. They cannot wait." 

Dr. Kaur echoed this urgency and said, "We are not here to applaud being invited to the table, but to design the agenda. An agenda where every woman and girl is safe everywhere."

The summit brought together global leaders, diplomats, and human rights advocates to discuss the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and strategies for advancing peace, equality, and justice worldwide.

Dr. Kaur, celebrated for her dedication to inclusive governance and sustainability, joined hands with international partners and highlighted India’s community-driven human rights efforts. She also pursued cooperation to further global democratic and developmental frameworks.
