India-Pak ceasefire not mediated, no trade offer either: Tharoor

“As long as they (Pakistan) use the language of terrorism, we will use the language of force. And that doesn't require a third party”.

Indian multi-party delegation leader Shashi Tharoor has discounted the consistent American perception that U.S. mediation or dangling the trade carrot had any role in India agreeing to a ceasefire with Pakistan after Operation Sindoor.

However, he clarified that the issue was a “small matter” whereas India has a much more valuable partnership with the United States that it would not want to jeopardise.

He blew hot and cold during a media interaction at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., where the Indian delegation was also directly asked whether India sending out seven multi-party delegations meant that India had failed to build a consensus on terrorism.
