The government of India announced the launch of international online diploma-certified courses in Indian classical arts, music, and folk traditions.
Part of a cultural exchange initiative, the programme is being implemented by the non-governmental organization Routes 2 Roots, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU).

The year-long programme beginning from the first week June will be conducted online and includes modules on various types of classical dance, classical music and folk arts. Classes are scheduled on weekdays and will be held live in Indian Standard Time (IST).
In the classical dance category, Kathak will be taught every Friday, Bharatanatyam every Wednesday, and Odissi every Monday at 3 PM IST.
Classical music courses include Tabla (Mondays) and Harmonium (Wednesdays), both at 4 PM IST, and Hindustani Vocal (Saturdays) at 3 PM IST.
Folk arts offerings include Mehndi and Puppet-making on Tuesdays, and Madhubani and Rangoli on Thursdays. Bollywood dance classes will be held every Friday at 4 PM IST.
The full-year fee for each course is $99, with a quarterly installment option of $28. A separate beginner-level package of recorded classes is available only for dance at $20 for the full year.
The programme aims to make Indian cultural education more accessible to international learners and diaspora communities through structured, certified training.
