Hyderabad’s Chowmahalla Palace hosts Miss World delegates

The event marked the ceremonial beginning of their journey in Telangana ahead of the grand finale on May 31.

Delegates of the 72nd Miss World pageant were hosted for a welcome dinner at the iconic Chowmahalla Palace in Hyderabad, India on May 13.

The event marked the ceremonial beginning of the pageant hosted in Telangana ahead of the grand finale on May 31.

Chowmahalla Palace, once the official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad, provided a stunning backdrop for the evening. “The Miss World Welcome Dinner unfolded in spectacular fashion at the majestic Chowmahalla Palace, a jewel of Hyderabad’s royal heritage,” Miss World Organization posted on Instagram.

Built over two centuries ago, the palace’s intricate Mughal and Persian-inspired architecture, lush courtyards, and illuminated gardens created a royal ambiance. Guests were welcomed with cultural performances and traditional music, evoking the grandeur of Hyderabad’s regal past.

The dinner featured Telangana’s celebrated cuisine. “From aromatic biryanis to delicious curries and traditional sweets, each dish told a story of the region’s rich culinary heritage,” read the official Miss World caption.

Delegates including Miss World Wales Millie-Mae Adams, Miss World Namibia Selma Kamanya, Miss World Dominican Republic Mayra Delgado, and Miss World Malaysia Saroop Roshi took the stage to share messages of gratitude and unity. According to the Instagram post, their remarks added “a touch of global solidarity to the celebration.”

The evening was attended by Julia Morley, chairperson and CEO of Miss World Ltd.; reigning Miss World Krystyna Pyszková; and Telangana’s tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao.

“The Chowmahalla Palace served as the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night—where beauty, tradition, and elegance came together to mark the beginning of a remarkable journey in Telangana,” the organization said.

The 72nd Miss World final will take place on May 31 at the HITEX Convention Center in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, delegates will participate in cultural immersions and philanthropic activities across Telangana as part of the pageant’s “Beauty with a Purpose” mission.
