Yoga Day event in New Jersey brings accessibility and wellness together

Faith Day Habilitation, a part of the Faith Health Group, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in New York, will host an International Day of Yoga event for individuals with special needs on June 18 in New Jersey.

The event will be held at the Faith Day Habilitation facility on Spielman Road and is being billed by organizers as the first International Day of Yoga celebration in the United States to offer dedicated special-needs assistance for participants of all ages.

According to organizers, the initiative aims to make yoga and wellness activities more accessible through person-centered support, enabling individuals of varying abilities to participate safely and comfortably.

The program will feature Consul General of India in New York Binaya Srikanta Pradhan and Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni, founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, as chief guests.

Organizers said the event is intended to promote wellness, inclusion, and community engagement while highlighting the benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being.

Faith Day Habilitation said the program aligns with its mission of providing care and support that promotes dignity, independence and quality of life for individuals and families.

Attendance is by invitation only because of space and accommodation requirements. Participants have been requested to wear white attire and bring their own yoga mats.

The organization added that its mission is to provide person-centered care that supports individuals and families at every stage of life.

International Day of Yoga is observed annually on June 21 and is celebrated worldwide to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga and healthy living.
