U.S. nonprofit to set up libraries for Indian kids with trauma

The initiative will fund two permanent library spaces and sustained programming for vulnerable children.

Chicago-based nonprofit Bookwallah will establish two libraries for children who have experienced trauma, loss, and displacement in India.

The dedicated library spaces, announced in partnership with Delhi-based Salaam Baalak Trust, will be called “Imagination Havens,” designed for trauma-informed storytelling and emotional support, within the Trust’s residential homes in Delhi.
