Cartoonist Scott Adams is gone now, and with him ends a long chapter of American office satire. For decades, his Dilbert cartoons poked at cubicles, bad bosses, and the quiet misery of white-collar work.
When news of his death spread, readers began looking again at the characters he created and what they meant at the time. Among them was Asok, the soft-spoken intern from India, who may say more today than he did when first drawn.
