Six marble deity statues have been stolen from a temple in Holden Hill, Australia, prompting local police to appeal for urgent public assistance.
South Australia Police said in a statement that an unknown intruder broke into the temple on Peat Avenue just before 5 a.m. on Aug. 10 and stole six marble deity statues. Damage was also caused to the premises during the incident.
“The suspect fled the scene with the six statues, which are believed to be of immense cultural, spiritual and financial value to the local community,” police said.

Holden Hill police have sought information from the public to help locate the stolen statues, which are believed to be of significant cultural and financial value to the Hindu community.
“We urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity around the temple at the time of the break-in, or who has information about the whereabouts of the statues, to come forward,” police said.
