“Dr. Samin Sharma is not only the pride of Rajasthan, but also the pride of India and the United States. His extraordinary contributions to interventional cardiology, patient care, innovation, and medical leadership over more than three decades have earned him worldwide respect. This appointment is a fitting recognition of his exceptional service and dedication,” Bhandari said.

Sharma is a patron member of RANA New York, an organization representing the global Rajasthani diaspora. Bhandari noted that RANA has organized four International Rajasthani Conventions in New York, attended on separate occasions by former Rajasthan Chief Ministers Ashok Gehlot and Vasundhara Raje. He also announced that the fifth International Rajasthani Convention will be held in New York next year.

Recalling Sharma's longstanding association with the organization, Bhandari said he has been one of RANA's strongest supporters since its inception and has also actively supported the humanitarian work of Jaipur Foot USA.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sharma worked through Mount Sinai Hospital in collaboration with Jaipur Foot USA to facilitate the shipment of modern ventilators worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to India. He also personally arranged life-saving medicines for the country during periods of severe medical shortages.

Bhandari further noted that nearly two decades ago, Sharma established EHCC Hospital in Jaipur, which today provides advanced cardiac care to patients from Rajasthan, neighboring states and abroad.

To mark the appointment, RANA New York, Jaipur Foot USA and BRUHUD NY Seniors announced that they will host a special luncheon in Sharma's honor on a yet-to-be-announced date.
