According to the organizers, the session will explore how artificial intelligence can be paired with ethical safeguards and human judgment as organizations increasingly adopt AI to support fundraising, operations and decision-making. The keynote will be followed by a panel discussion featuring leaders using AI to advance their missions.

“In a time of rapid AI innovation, trust is more important than ever,” Todd Lant, Blackbaud’s chief customer officer, said in a statement. “Priya's perspective on ethical, human-centered AI aligns closely with Blackbaud's commitment to helping the social impact sector accelerate missions with responsible and effective AI solutions, designed to maintain both user and constituent trust.”

Lakhani is the founder and chief executive of London-based CENTURY Tech, an artificial intelligence and education technology company that develops personalized learning tools for schools, colleges and universities. She has emerged as a prominent voice on the responsible use of AI in education and public policy.

She currently serves on the UK Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology and previously served on the UK Government’s AI Council. Lakhani also co-founded the Institute for Ethical AI in Education and is co-host of the BBC’s flagship artificial intelligence program, AI Decoded.

Before launching CENTURY Tech in 2013, Lakhani trained as a barrister. She later built a consumer goods business and established a charitable foundation that funded millions of meals, thousands of vaccinations and several schools.

She was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2014 and has advised the British government on artificial intelligence, technology and regulation.

Blackbaud, a U.S.-based provider of AI-powered technology solutions for nonprofits, educational institutions and corporate social responsibility programs, said bbcon 2026 will feature more than 100 sessions focused on technology, fundraising, education and corporate social responsibility.

The conference will conclude with a fireside chat and performance by Tony and Grammy award-winning artist Leslie Odom Jr.
