At the recently concluded Global AI gathering in New Delhi, a new phrase quietly began circulating in diplomatic and technology corridors — “Pax Silica.” Inspired by historical terms like Pax Romana and Pax Americana, Pax Silica signals the emergence of a new global order shaped not by military or economic dominance alone, but by artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and technological cooperation.
The idea gained momentum during discussions at the Global AI Summit 2026, where leaders, innovators and policymakers debated the future of responsible AI governance.

During the summit, world leaders emphasized that artificial intelligence must become a tool for peace, inclusive growth and sustainable development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that AI should empower humanity rather than divide it, stating that technology must remain human-centric and transparent.
Similarly, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, underscored that AI, when developed responsibly, can accelerate health care breakthroughs, expand access to education, strengthen food security and support climate resilience.
The message was clear: Pax Silica is not about dominance — it is about digital cooperation.
Unlike past geopolitical eras defined by military alliances, Pax Silica envisions a world where silicon chips, data centers, AI research and ethical governance frameworks define influence. Nations investing in AI research, semiconductor ecosystems and digital public infrastructure are shaping tomorrow’s power structures.
India positioned itself as a bridge between the Global North and Global South, advocating inclusive access to AI and equitable innovation funding.
Industry leaders noted that AI investments running into billions of dollars are reshaping global markets. From health care diagnostics to smart agriculture and disaster prediction systems, AI is becoming central to national development strategies.
Under Pax Silica, the race is not for territory — it is for talent, data integrity, computing power and trust.

A key theme throughout the summit was responsible AI. Leaders emphasized ethical standards, transparency and global regulatory cooperation to prevent misuse.
The phrase Pax Silica therefore represents not just technological progress, but a collective responsibility to ensure AI reduces inequality rather than widens it.
The Big Picture
As the summit concluded, the idea of Pax Silica reflected a turning point:
A world increasingly shaped by algorithms, governed by digital ethics and connected through shared innovation.
If guided wisely, Pax Silica could mark an era in which technology strengthens democracy, accelerates development and fosters global peace.
