An Indian-origin man, Sachin, living in Norway, said that he chose to move there because in Norway, a job is just part of your identity, not your whole identity.

Posting on Instagram, Sachin, a former Merchant Navy officer, shared a heartfelt video on Norway's socio-cultural values, highlighting how it embraces everyone.

Describing the country, he said, "Norway is an egalitarian society. It simply means that every citizen is treated equally here. Your job, your gender, where you are from, these things do not decide your value."

He added, "That's why your job is a part of your life, not your full identity. When this happens, people are able to focus more on their other things, (0:20) like family time, health, travel and hobbies."

Sachin also celebrated the idea of living life to the fullest and not merely surviving, he noted that all citizens get access to basic facilities and this results in people not being stressed about surviving but are given an opportunity to live life.

Defending the comparatively lower income potential compared to other countries, he said, " Another truth is that the salaries here are not that high. And if I had gone to Australia, Canada or such countries, I would have been able to earn a lot of money. For me personally, these factors are more important than money."

Sachin, who has traveled to over 35 countries remarked that his journeys have taught him that "Life doesn’t always need more money. Sometimes, it needs less stress, more trust, and time to actually live."
