JJ Singh to host Loudoun youth leadership summit

Virginia Delegate JJ Singh will host his second annual Leadership Summit for Loudoun County high school students on July 25, bringing together leaders from sports, government and public policy to discuss public speaking, coalition building, college readiness and leadership skills, according to a post on his official X account.
The event is designed for high school students and will feature sessions on leadership development, communication, networking and civic engagement, according to the event page linked in Singh's announcement.

According to the Virginia House of Delegates, Singh has represented Virginia's 26th House District, which includes parts of Loudoun County, since Jan. 13, 2025.
The delegate highlighted several speakers ahead of the event, including Indian-origin executive Kirtan Mehta, chief external affairs officer for the Washington Commanders. In his post, Singh credited Mehta with helping build the coalition that brought the NFL franchise back to Washington, D.C., after decades at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland.
Recalling the team's years at RFK Stadium, Singh described the atmosphere created by fans in the stadium's end-zone bleachers, saying it made the venue one of the league's most intimidating home fields during the era of the "Hogs" offensive line and the "Posse" receiving corps, when Washington won multiple Super Bowls.
Singh also announced that Sally Canfield will speak at the summit. He described Canfield as a former senior adviser to President George W. Bush, former presidential candidate Mitt Romney and Sen. Marco Rubio. According to Singh, Canfield will discuss how she has helped maintain bipartisan support for foreign aid despite growing political polarization in Washington.

According to the Virginia House of Delegates, Singh was born in Fairfax, Virginia, and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. Before entering elected office, he worked in the private and nonprofit sectors and has been affiliated with organizations including the National Peace Corps Association, the Jekyll Island Foundation and Ascendus.
The summit is open to Loudoun County high school students, and interested participants can register through Singh's official website. According to the event page, additional details regarding the venue, full schedule and any remaining speakers have not yet been announced.
The leadership summit is part of Singh's ongoing outreach to students in his district and aims to connect young people with professionals from government, business and civic organizations while encouraging leadership and public service.
