India–U.S. tariffs since Trump imposed duties on India

U.S. President Donald Trump on Feb. 2 said he had agreed on a trade deal with India that slashes U.S. tariffs on Indian goods to 18 percent from 50 percent.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Feb. 2 said he had agreed on a trade deal with India, and that New Delhi also agreed to stop buying Russian oil and buy more from the U.S. and potentially Venezuela.

Below is the timeline of events since Trump imposed a 50 percent tariff on Indian goods being shipped to U.S.
