Indian-origin researcher identifies metabolic weakness in aggressive brain tumor

Indian-origin researcher Siva Kumar Natarajan has identified itaconate as a key metabolic driver of a particularly aggressive form of brain cancer, along with metabolic vulnerabilities that could offer promising new therapeutic targets for treating it.

Natarajan’s recent work, published in Nature, identifies itaconate as a candidate oncometabolite in ZFTA-RELA+ ependymomas.
