Indian origin Uber Driver in New Zealand, 37-year-old Satwinder Singh, has been sentenced to jail for raping a minor girl who was a passenger in his cab, NZ Herald reported.
The 17-year-old victim had booked Singh's cab for a 7km journey across the Waikato River in central Hamilton, but instead, Singh turned off his GPS and headed down a side street to rape her, according to the court records.
The victim was dropped off at her friends' place, after which she called the police and pressed charges.
