Indian teams secured the top two positions at the Open Run//Asia hackathon by the BSV Association, with WifiMeter by SatoshiBlacks finishing first and SeedRush by Btorrent taking second place.

The three-month online competition, the first in a planned series, brought together developers from across Asia to build practical applications on the BSV blockchain, with winners sharing a total prize pool of US$15,000.

WifiMeter is a platform offering fast, secure, and reliable public Wi-Fi with fair pay-per-use billing, where users pay only for the data they consume without subscriptions, emails, or OTPs.

Targeted at venues like cafés, hotels, campuses, events, and maritime operators, it helps providers monetize bandwidth, prevent abuse, and ensure predictable quality while prioritizing user privacy.

SeedRush is a BitTorrent-compatible desktop client that monetizes torrent seeding through BSV blockchain micro-payments, allowing seeders to earn satoshis based on uploads and downloaders to pay per micro-chunk for guaranteed faster speeds.

Aimed at seeders, trackers, content creators, power downloaders, and developers, it turns idle bandwidth into revenue while enhancing torrent ecosystem efficiency.

Marcin Rzetecki, head of developer relations at the BSV Association, said, "Open Run//Asia demonstrates the strength of the BSV ecosystem and the ambition of developers who are focused on building solutions that solve real problems.”

“The quality and creativity of the winning projects highlight how scalable blockchain technology can be applied commercially across multiple sectors. We are proud to support this community and look forward to seeing these teams progress and succeed on a global stage," he added.

The hackathon focused on real-world use cases and commercial viability, offering winning teams increased visibility in international markets.

The BSV Association, a Switzerland-based non-profit, promotes the BSV blockchain, a public ledger designed for large-scale data handling, low transaction fees, and enterprise applications.
