Indian man charged in Michigan on stolen truck charges

Singh was released on personal recognizance bond, requiring him to surrender his passport and wear a GPS tether for monitoring.

A 24-year-old Indian origin man has been arraigned in Chippewa County, Michigan, on charges of possession of a stolen truck, on Dec. 15.

A resident of Ontario, Yuvraj Singh, was allegedly stopped by Michigan State Police officers after they noted commercial vehicle violations near Marie International Bridge. Singh was driving a semi-truck towing a trailer when he was stopped.

Upon inspection, the police allegedly discovered that the vehicle had previously been reported stolen in Ontario, Canada. Further investigation found that the truck’s VIN had been altered in an attempt to disguise the vehicle.

The driver, Yuvraj Singh, was booked in the Chippewa County Jail and then arraigned in the 91st District Court. He has been charged with receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle, motor vehicle fraud - concealing or misrepresenting the identity of a motor vehicle with intent and an invalid license plate - international registration plan

Singh was released on personal recognizance bond, requiring him to surrender his passport, remain within the county and state, and wear a GPS tether for monitoring.
