More than 50 life sciences leaders, pharmaceutical executives, researchers and biotechnology companies participated in the fourth edition of India Unlimited in San Diego on June 21, on the sidelines of the BIO International Convention 2026.
Organized by the International Contract Pharma Association (ICPA), the event brought together representatives from India's pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors and international stakeholders to discuss research, manufacturing and innovation opportunities.

Ambassador K.J. Srinivasa, Consul General of India in Los Angeles, addressed the gathering and interacted with participants during the three-hour program.
The program featured two sessions: "India Increases its Biotech and Manufacturing Quotient" and "Servicing Global Research, Development and Manufacturing Needs of International Stakeholders."

Participants discussed India's expanding role in biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing, as well as opportunities for collaboration between Indian companies and international partners, across research, development and manufacturing.
Participants included representatives from India's Department of Biotechnology, IIT Hyderabad, Premas Biotech, Enzene Biosciences, Lupin, Miltenyi Biotec, East Ocyon Bio and the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance.
The gathering took place during the BIO International Convention 2026, one of the world's largest biotechnology conferences. Held annually, the convention brings together biotechnology companies, investors, researchers and policymakers from around the world. San Diego is considered one of the leading biotechnology hubs in the United States, making it a key venue for discussions on global partnerships and innovation.
India has emerged as a major player in the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, particularly in generic medicines, vaccine production, biosimilars and contract development and manufacturing services. Industry leaders at the event discussed opportunities to expand partnerships and connect India's research and manufacturing capabilities with global markets.
According to ICPA Founder Director Anil Ram Chauhan, plans are underway for a fifth edition of India Unlimited, which is expected to be held in Philadelphia in June 2027.
