GOPIO Central Jersey hosts heart health seminar
More than 100 attendees heard cardiologist Dr. Kintur Sanghvi discuss cardiovascular disease prevention.

GOPIO Central Jersey hosted a community heart health seminar on July 15 at Royal Albert's Palace in Edison, New Jersey, bringing together more than 100 attendees for a discussion on cardiovascular disease prevention and advances in heart care.
The seminar featured interventional cardiologist Dr. Kintur Sanghvi, who delivered a presentation titled "From Prevention to Intervention: A Modern Approach to Cardiovascular Health." He discussed practical strategies for reducing the risk of heart disease, emphasizing healthy eating, regular physical activity, stress management, routine health screenings and early diagnosis.

Dr. Sanghvi also highlighted recent developments in cardiovascular medicine, including minimally invasive procedures and newer diagnostic technologies that have improved patient outcomes.
The presentation concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which attendees asked about heart health, lifestyle changes and ways to reduce cardiovascular risk.
The event was emceed by Sapna Mehta, an executive member of GOPIO Central Jersey.
Nishith Mehta, president of GOPIO Central Jersey, welcomed attendees and outlined the mission of the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), highlighting its work in education, community service, leadership development and civic engagement. He said the chapter remains committed to organizing programs that support the health and well-being of the Indian diaspora.
Tushar Patel, past president and senior advisor of GOPIO Central Jersey, introduced Dr. Sanghvi, highlighting his contributions to cardiovascular medicine and public health education. Patel also delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the speaker, attendees, volunteers, sponsors, media partners and organizing committee.
Organizers noted that cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide and that South Asians face a higher-than-average risk of heart disease. They said community education programs play an important role in raising awareness about prevention and encouraging early screening.
GOPIO Central Jersey also recognized several community partners for supporting the event, including the Indo-American Cultural Foundation of Central Jersey (IACFNJ), Health Camp of New Jersey (HCNJ), Ruby Memorial, Vibrnz, Vibrant Incorporated, AmeriTax, and One Stop Office Solutions.
The organization thanked its media partners: ITV Gold, Parikh Worldwide Media, TV Asia, Gujarat Darpan, Radio Zindagi, The Indian Eye, Hi India, The Indian Panorama, Indus TV, and MANA TV, for helping publicize the seminar and promote awareness of heart health within the community.
According to GOPIO Central Jersey, the strong turnout reflected growing interest in community-based health education. The organization said it plans to continue partnering with healthcare professionals and community organizations to offer programs promoting wellness, disease prevention and healthier lifestyles.
